Sunny Days and Lobster Skin

While some of you may wonder why I'm posting about this, it is because I fell in love with a new blend of oils that Holan made for me to try out. There's a little bit of a back story here.... On the morning of July 4th, I, along with most of my family went to help my dad with a family project. Not being warned about how long we would be there or what type of environment we would be in, I went out dressed in well, summer clothing (shorts and a tank top). So of course I went in unprepared not knowing the situation. Long story short, we spent a good 3-4 hours out in the blazing hot sun with no shade. Of course, me being dressed the way I was didn't help me at all. Thankfully I had been given a tip from my sister about using lavender essential oil any chance I got to help aid in the skin in healing and potentially not peeling. When I got home later that afternoon, I was able to assess my situation only to see that I was bright lobster red, and I was in so much pain that I couldn't have anything touching my burned skin.

Once I got cleaned up and situated, Holan had applied peppermint and lavender oil to my burns which helped in the soothing process. Since my skin was SO sensitive to the touch, Holan made me a spray that he made up just that day. The spray included these oils in this exact order...

About 1 TBS of fractionated coconut oil3 drops frankincense1 drop helichrysum 2 drops lavender2 drops peppermint1 drop melaleuca  Holan chose these oils based on how they would help my skin recover. When I first mixed it together I thought, "Geez, this better smell nice." Then the moment of truth, I tried the spray for the first time; and to my surprise, it smelled so wonderful!! It has now been 4 days of using the oil mixture and I feel great! My skin is healing up nicely, no pain, redness is reduced, and sensitivity is gone. What used to take weeks to heal, healed up in 2-3 days. Wow! I am glad that I am able to use such great tools to aid me when I am in a need and the best part is, I am able to share my experiences with others who my be going through the same situations. So when you're asked to help out with a family project, remember to ask questions that will help you better prepare for your day.
