Peppermint Essential Oil. One of my Favorite Oils to Share.

peppermintPeppermint is an amazing essential oil. I use peppermint all the time. It is my favorite oil to share and to demonstrate. Take one drop of peppermint oil, rub your hands together an inhale. The feeling is amazing!

You can also take a peppermint beadlet to freshen up or just for that cooling sensation in your mouth. If you ever wondered if there is a difference in essential oil brands, peppermint is a good oil to compare. I purchased many different brands of peppermint oil and I could smell menthol (a compound that is commonly found in mint oils) in each, but no oil smelled exactly the same as the other. They were all the same species, but there are many factors that affects the aroma.

Remember, if it smells different, chemically it is different as well., which means one oil may produce more desired effects than others. My favorite oil is Peppermint from Washington. It smells sweeter, it's not as harsh. Some of the other brand of oils just are unpleasant (I can understand why some people don't like aromatherapy or the idea of essential oils). I've used peppermint since I started in 2010. It's refreshing. It's also a great oil to mix with other oils such as orange or frankincense essential oil.

Critics say that there is no way peppermint can produce that type of aroma. Our secret has to do with how we source our oils. With such great peppermint, a person would think it comes from an exotic place, but our peppermint oil is grown domestically in Washington, USA. A lot of care is put into the process as seen in the following video that I hope you enjoy.

There are a lot of rumors circulating on the internet on doTERRA's top selling oil. Many of these rumors that are circulating are based on lab results funded by a competing essential oil company (an employee supplied the information that circulated it on different websites and groups). The samples sent to the lab were unlabeled and identified later as "doTERRA Peppermint Oil." doTERRA disputed the claim. The sample was incorrectly identified as doTERRA Essential Oil. This resulted in lawsuits and controversy.

The legal proceedings took a little more than a year to complete and the allegations that doTERRA Peppermint Oil is synthetically enhanced was found to be unwarranted. doTERRA provided evidence from multiple labs showing analysis of doTERRA Peppermint Oil to be 100% Pure. The competing company failed to provide any substantial evidence to show otherwise. Fortunately, every doTERRA essential oil bottle has a batch number. Each batch is tested for quality. Although many critics say it is unnecessary as many smaller companies cannot afford the costs to testing, this quality control process has saved doTERRA from false accusations and has helped keep doTERRA;s reputation of having top quality essential oils in the world. Hope this information helps, just in case you run into outdated (2012) and inaccurate (as found in the court procedings) information regarding doTERRA Peppermint Essential Oils.
